Resolution number five is to finish this painting that I started of Harley Quinn.
Several years ago, I worked a temp job that had me doing some odds and ends while I answered the phone at a company that provided medical information to customers. One of the little jobs that I did was to assemble some informational packets that had been printed up and needed to be put in folders.
The printer had put individual pieces of white board between packets that would be of no further use once they were assembled, and the boards would typically be discarded (noooo!) or recycled (okay!). However, since I am an artist, and since "reuse" is always better than "recycle", I asked if I could take them home. The company said sure, so I ended up with a rather large supply of these (a big box full).
They had a slick surface that would be useless for pencil, but I was hoping that I could use acrylic paint on them, which would be cool because they were sturdy enough to resist wrinkling, yet much lighter and less bulky than stretched canvas or canvas board (and of course WAY less expensive, as in FREE!) Fortunately, they took acrylic paint easily.
I had done a painting of Wonder Woman in a comic-book style that came out well, and so I decided to do a series of comic-book characters, all painted in bright colors and then outlined in Sharpie, so they had a bit of a Roy Lichtenstein feel and stayed true to the comic art style. Harley was my next pick, and so I made a pencil sketch.
That sat around for a while, and then I painted the flesh tone. Then it sat around for even longer, but I recently painted the green background. Progress, but very slow progress, and this is the kind of piece that wouldn't take more than a few hours to finish, yet it's been on my to-do list for an embarrassingly long time. Hopefully, a good public shaming will help inspire me to get a move on!

LOL! It's much easier to chat with my friends, hence the delay :)

I am planning on working on a few pieces at once, so when I do that, progress should be pretty quick.

It's going to be very comic-art style, kind of like a Lichtenstein, but without the obvious dot pattern.
