Sent Hubby to the Store....Interesting What He Came Back With

With all of the panic shopping out there it makes it difficult to purchase our weekly needs and to replenish our pantry.
Because I am now considered at risk because of my age (shakes head, but stays home), I have my hubby shop and run errands for the household.
I made a shopping list for what we needed. Told him where I had heard from our friends on Facebook where the items were available. After dinner was done, he donned his hat, grabbed the list, and was out the door.
About 2 hours after he left he posted about his shopping ordeal on Facebook. It wasn't pretty. I knew at that moment that he stopped at his favorite Stewart's shop to pick up coffee and sit in his truck to take a breather.
When he got home the bags that held groceries were from various places. Hannaford, Walmart, and Dollar Tree. He bought 2 packages of napkins (not on my list), 2 pints of sour cream (not on my list), kielbasa (not on my list, but we will use it), sliced ham (I prefer turkey), green bananas (will ripen and was requested, but not green!!), organic flour (that was all that was left!!), Country Crock margarine (I hate margarine, but I guess they were out of butter), 2 1-lb bags of flour that he found at Stewart's (I wouldn't have paid the price for it which I am sure was the same as the cost of a 5-lb bag in a grocery store). He did manage to get spring water and I am thrilled that he did.
We are stocked up on toilet paper for the moment. Should last us at least through the month. So that's a plus!
Thankfully we still have venison, chicken, and maybe some sausage in the freezers. Hopefully the fresh meat and vegetables will be restocked soon.
Will I send hubby out again? Hell yes! I just need to keep telling myself that his food choices are okay. He is doing the best he can without causing another person harm while he is shopping. The man had eggs and flour grabbed out of his hands. How he held it together is beyond me. But he did.
Hope all is well with everyone. Stay home if you can. If you can't, use precautionary measures for your safety and the safety of others. And please.....leave some toilet paper out there for others. I don't want to have to use mismatched socks. LOL

We have everything we need besides meats. And the obvious fresh milk and breads. But as of now the ones we have are fresh. So we're okay for now. Not worried.

It's unbelievable that someone would take stuff out of someone else's hands! People's behaviour is hard to understand sometimes. I hope the shopping gets better soon. Hopefully everyone's larders will be stocked full soon and things will get back to normal.

I laughed when I read that one of our friends saw a man in Walmart that had a cart loaded full with eggs. He cleaned out the shelf. That's a lot of eggs!!

@JudyEv I will only purchase what I can use before they spoil. I have a good friend who will keep me supplied if we run short.

@ElusiveButterfly It is a lot of work to freeze them and they won't keep forever. Maybe he intends to sell some.

I have quite a lot. Not a big fan of canned vegetables though. I am hoping to be able to find some.

@DianneN I had kept a few cans on hand. Beets, corn, and carrots. Green beans are horrible in the can. I prefer fresh or frozen.

I am happy for you. I am the only one that can do things so I have to go out and get stuff done. I like kielbasa. It is really good. People are really getting out of hand. Thanks.

I will need to go to the grocery store again this weekend. I went to Petsmart to stock up on cat food and litter. Although I may have to get litter in May.

Hubby picked up a big bag of cat food. It will last us for months!! I bought a new cat litter box, litter and pads last week. Our cat is finally adjusted to using it. The litter lasts for a month. The supply I have is a 3 month supply.
