I like the way that a landlord in Portland Maine is doing what he can to ease the money problems that two of his tenants who live in a duplex that he owns are going through due to their source of income being on hold due to the corona virus problem that is closing business for the time being. Nathan Nichols who is the landlord is easing up the burden of his two tenants by asking them not to pay their rent for the month of April. Nathan admits that the reason he can afford to do this act of kindness is because he has an emergency fund and he has a full time job where he earns a living to keep his business going. Both of his tenants have jobs in the service industry which will suffer loss of clients due to the health crisis which will lessen their source of income for the current time period. Nathan is hoping that other landlords will follow his example to ease the rent burden on their tenants so their business can prosper in the long run.

It's a good thing because those with no income and earnings would be unable to pay

That's very kind of him. Many will be finding it hard to find rent money.

This shutdown will affect a lot of service workers for a little while.

Nathan realizes that being kind to tenants who are having a hard time getting paid for their work at this time is better to be friends with them instead of being greedy.

This is very nice of him. It is very difficult to have income suddenly cut off

I'm glad that Nathan has offered to help the tenants by not having them pay April rent.

I agree with you since a lot of businesses and landlords realize that it is better to show some compassion to persons who are having a tough time trying to make ends meet during the coronavirus crisis.
