Please Stop the Judgement People

First of all let me make it clear to everyone that I am following all mandated, but our Governor encouraged us to go for walks and get fresh air, so that's what I did! I have a degenerative muscle condition, a condition that landed two of my cousins in a chair before they were my age, one of those cousins died, but I can still walk, and I have no intention on taking that for granted. Going for walks are a must for me. Secondly I was not near other people, there were a few people in towns but greetings were made with a smile and nod. I sanitized my hands before and after leaving, so believe me I am doing all that is asked of me. Perhaps I am being a little sensitive but I can only hear other people telling me how to live my life for so long. Believe me I'm taking precautions, what doesn't help is the judgement, not just here but everywhere. There are still things I have to do such as getting groceries as it is two of the small stores in our area are on the verge of having to close, and for some they are the only option.

If you follow rules than it is good. Many people don't follow rules.

IF there's a lockdown, then yes people shouldn't even go out for walks. As you aren't supposed to. Only for pharmacys, grocery stores, gas and work. But if you're not under one, then as long as you aren't around others and washing hands / sanitizing, then you are okay.

Our Governor specifically said walks are still allowed and encouraged just to keep six feet from others, believe me I was farther than six feet away...

We are on a Mandate but the governor said walks are okay, I washed my hands when going out and coming in well before the Corona Virus!

I think it's unrealistic to expect people to not even go for walks. We thought we were an obese country before, just wait until this is over, and everyone is large.

I agree, we need fresh air, it's not healthy to be cooped up all the time,!

I went out for a walk today, too (although we’re not under mandatory shelter-in-place orders here like California and New York). I can completely understand why people want to be outside. And, to be fair, I didn’t see any group larger than four (a foursome playing golf on the public course near the park). We simply can NOT just “stay in our houses,” and I don’t think the order is made to do that. Rather, it’s a “necessity” thrust upon them by people (like the spring break crowd in Florida) by people who don’t care.

Newsom stated no one is going to be arrested or anything. Plenty of people are outside.

I know, and I'm keeping my distance, I live in Columbia, it's not exactly a huge crowded place...

There isn't any harm in going for a walk at non over crowded places.

Though I love a morning walk, I have stopped the habit as my family wants me take all precautions.

You are doing all that you can. Ignore people that say you aren't.

That is good that he encourages you all to still go out and get in a walk and such. For some getting fresh air is very important. I wouldn't be able to stay in 24/7 myself.
