Kindness Goes A Long Way

Personally, I have always had the motto, I suppose you could call it, to not say anything if I could not say something nice about a person. After all, where does it get you to continuously talk down someone? My opinion is, it gets you nowhere.
Maybe you feel better after you vent. I vent from time to time, like now I suppose. Just a little post to say, be nice. It you can't be nice, don't say anything.
I realize this is a public community and we can all say whatever we want, within limits of course. So why not talk about how blue the sky is. How pretty a flower is. Or a food you like. I could go on and on. But I won't.
You are all welcome to say what you want of course. Again, I understand this is a public site. Just a reminder that kindness is so much nicer to read about.
Kindness goes a long way in life. As some would say. Rant over.

I get what you're saying; but this is also a forum for debates, conversation, exchange of ideas...and we don't always agree. With that being said...

@CarolDM I was hoping you could lose yourself in that picture, sitting on that rock and watching the sun rise! Hugs.

This entire world needs a little more kindness. Scratch that. This world needs a lot more kindness.

@CarolDM There are two thoughts in mind that come to me in response to your comment: 1) we may not be able to affect what happens in the world, but we can affect those immediately around us; and 2) every great movement in the history of the world started with somebody taking action on something. So we need to be the kindness we want to see in the world.

I do try to live by what my parents taught me “if you can’t say something nice then don’t say anything at all”. Im not perfect , but I do try very hard.

I think so too, if you have nothing positive to share it's better to stay silent

So right! I definitely echo the same thought. Don't say something to others or about others that would hurt you if it was said about you. So give what you would like to receive

this is a public.community but to be honest i cant vent out my personal stuff because people may.judge you. at least some of them. I like your posts. your discussions are always wholesome but i dont mind and wont judge you if you post about personal stuff.

I try to but often times what I am thinking just pops out. At least the person I am thinking about knows what I am thinking

Nice to see you here, Carol. Yeah we need a little bit of sunshine under this dark cloud of the pandemic.
