Jump Around

In keeping with my songs about walking, moving and so on I come to “Jump Around” by House of Pain. I think this rap song could very well represent how we are presently feeling. Probably wanting to get out and jumping about because we are too confined. For me, nothing too much has changed because I was always more in than out but somehow with all that’s going on I am now wanting to get out more than staying inside. To avoid getting too stiff I think jumping about is not a bad thing to do at all. “Jump Around” was recorded by the hip hop group House of Pain in 1992. It rose up on the charts in both the U.S. and the U.K. It has become popular with dancehall DJs. The reason I can identify with this song is that it was featured in one of my favorite movies “Bridget Jones’ Baby” and in the scene where they play this song, she is celebrating her birthday alone. She says “of all the loves in my life one is dead and the other is married” and at one time after I lost my soul mate this would apply to me he was gone and my first husband was still alive and married. Now of course, he too has passed on. So what do you all say? Shall we jump around?

I like this song as it is representing a segment of the population here that is very important to me.

Good idea. We need to keep some activity going even if we are confined indoors.
