I made keto waffles for a late breakfast this morning after taking my pregnant daughter to her appt this morning. She woke me up earlier than I planned on getting up but at the time I wasn't overly tired. After eating I or the last of the batter into the waffle iron and did some things on my computer. Fighting sleep I took a nap on the recliner. About an hour later my husband came home from the doctors and after buying a few things for supper . I thought I had already unplugged the waffle iron and planned on putting it away but it was still hot. It was then I remembered my final waffle. Burnt to a crisp. Good thing I found it. Possibly nothing bad would have happened but I don't plan on testing that either. Last week as I shared previously quite a few of our shelves were bare but over this weekend people called down some and more food was available to more people. Then the rumor Mill for winds of the governor announcing a lockdown on our state. That was announced by noon but took place at midnight. It got crazy busy again at work work people buying more than they needed. It was even busy long before the announcement was revealed. The days since weren't too busy although were again out of eggs and certain milk and we may never get toilet paper filling the shelves again. Our store finally put a better limit on certain foods like to of each kind of meat, and we've been getting smaller rolls in four packs from a company I've never seen before. That also has a limit of two.

I am glad that the iron did not start a fire. I called a volunteer appointed by our Mayor today and I had my grocery shopping done.

We have something in out store called shipt shoppers which began long before this virus got started and many utilize that service. Other stores have similar shoppers in place to shop for people and then deliver the food or if the people live outside the predetermined areas the ppl can pick up their purchased groceries outside the store. We also have senior services here and many neighbors are chipping in and helping out in many ways.

@MarshaMusselman I only call the appointed volunteers because they have all been tested to be sure that they are not contaminated.

@LadyDuck I don't think they are testing in that manner here yet although I also don't read or watch the news and would have to search that our to say for sure. But if they are tested do they get tested again and again say weekly? Who's to say they won't get it later on and are those they're helping tested too?

Many items in our WalMart Store are limited two per order. Now, there's plenty on the shelves to go around. The lock-down hasn't been too bad, it's similar to how it was before, only separation. It's getting easier now, more like a good habit. The birds or squirrels will love your burnt chocolate waffle! LOL

I didn't even think about throwing it outside for the animals. I work at the Meijer in Midland. We are doing better but still run out of stuff fairly often. That may be due more to the trucks not having everything than to people getting too much.

@kobesbuddy most people are making cloth ones. My sister made some and gave us three. We've been out of masks since this all began back in February. Lowe's might have some or not. I know they do get toilet paper in.

@MarshaMusselman The distributors are losing workers, because of the economy. Jay liked to shop in Bay City, at Meijer's. He went there this morning, but couldn't find masks. Only hospitals are getting them.

Wow. I heard we did get tp yesterday but I don't know how long it lasted but the rest of the shelves were doing better. Not everything though. Napkins and wipes are still low. We have baby wipes but not Lysol or Clorox although we got smaller containers than we sell to better whipe areas down after each person leaves our resister station.

Those limits are applied here, too. We have a filled pantry and freezer and are set for a while.

I think over all many have plenty of food already but just don't want to eat what's there. They shop like there's no tomorrow. It's been more moderate this week other than Monday that is when the lockdown here was first announced.

I'm glad you found that last waffle before anything bad happened. I'm glad your store is starting to limit the number of items people can buy. I saw that too the last time I went shopping.
