Fake News Causes Panic

It's already the 13th day that we are on an enhanced quarantine (sort of a lockdown), but people still go out due to panic buying of food. due to false news.
A cousin told me to buy food good for a month or two because Duterte might impose another lockdown for a month! Ialso read it in some comments onFB, but I just don't jump into the bandwagon of people rushing to the market or to the grocery! What a danger, they're putting themselves into, and also they are making the virus thrive and multiply more!
Just could not blame them because they know the government can not supply all their needs. It had been two weeks now, and day-wage earners are feeling the crunch! More so if they have babies or children to feed!
I hope these crisis will end soon!

@acelawrites Isn't that amazing? With the number of infected and deaths rising daily, there are people who think this is being blown out of proportion.

@simone10 many were caught unprepared; just like our government.

Yes, people are lining the groceries, crowding the markets here, they're not afraid of the virus!

The fake news most likely came from the troll farms of this government.
They are the number one purveyor of fake news.

@acelawrites true.
Imagine, if the funds that they paid these trolls are given to our healthcare front liners and used to purchase test kits and provide financial assistance to the needy, the situation will be more bearable.

@allen0187 yes, it's questionable; are they included in the gov't budget? Too bad!

We had also panic buying here on the first week of the coronavirus. Some were fighting because of toilet paper.
. Now, the people are getting calm and only buy what they need as they have stored some food, too. I really hope this pandemic will stop soon.

Yes, very difficult, more so for the day-wage earners or for those with no work at all.

the groceries should have controlled the number of items each person could buy so there's enough for everybody, not just because the customer can afford it and results in profits for them.
