I have such a love/hate relationship with batteries. So expensive but so giving. Found out some interesting facts about them recently. They can last for ten years if stored properly. But what is 'properly'? It's important to keep them in their original packaging if possible. This will protect them from humidity. Store at room temperature or below. The rechargeable type should be kept charged or they could get ruined.

I use rechargeable batteries for my mouse. I cannot let my mouse run out of power, I have a recharger so when the mouse runs out of juice I recharge those batteries and put in the ones already charged. Just in case, beneath my computer table is a mouse with a tail.

Interesting facts. Batteries are definitely expensive; but we use them for so many things.
