Goodbye my adult tooth

It was a few months back when I went to see a dentist because of a sore gum. I was surprise to learn that I have a tooth that need to be filled up and another one which need a root canal and crowning. The filling of the tooth was consider an easy one even through it was incredibly sensitive for me. The root canal was a failure as the tooth crack so additional treatment had been done. The dentist told me that it may be a failure and told me to accept the other method which is to do a tooth implant. Essentially it was to remove the tooth, insert some no rust metal into the gum before inserting the tooth. I took the option and went to the dentist yesterday. First extraction in three decade. Even with the numbing gums, it was still a painful process. So that explain why I was out of action for nearly two days. I was drooling blood and had a short come and go fever. Everything is good now so I am patiently waiting to install my metal filling in another 3 months time. Right now, I have to make best on what I can.

I am sorry you had to go to the dentist for all ofthat. The worst I've dealt with is a tooth filling.

@id_peace Oh I do. I've had tooth pain and an infected tooth before, but didn't go to the dentist.I kept it clean and took care of it myself, but oh how painful it was!

hmm i think it can be done so long as your gum is already healed enough.

@id_peace That would be nice. Too late for me though as I only have nine left all on the bottom.

I have one tooth implant and found it painless and easy. Others I know had infections from it. You will be happy once it’s done.

It is more of the painful fix than expensive actually.

@id_peace That's good. I think dental care is cheaper there than in Australia.

In my case, I already lost a couple. Both are molars. It's a nasty experience, but the agony lasts only a few days after extraction.

@id_peace no actually. I just got used to the missing tooth, though I may consider it in the future.

I had tooth implants done in 1972--had to have them extracted last year--hopefully they make them last longer now! They were great until they (I) got old.
