God: Does God have his favourites, his special people, who he favours more?

Does God have favourites?
In the Bible, it is seen that God seemed to favour the Jewish people; what is special about them?
If God's son Jesus is real, how come God's chosen people, the Jewish religion, still do not know or accept him, even though some of them have such high knowledge of Heaven, for example, like that which Baal Shem Tov (1698 to 1760) the great Jewish mystic, and Hasidic leader had.
This great mystic could even see into Heaven, it was claimed of him.
Perhaps Heaven has many parts to it, and one part is for these Jewish people, which they know of, but there had to be created another part for all others, and so God's son created that for them in Heaven too, whereas the Jews, as God's chosen people, favoured by God from creation, remain directly in contact with God, rather than needing his son in their lives too.
God created, and then favoured the Jews as an exemplar race for others to follow, but this never quite worked, as they never could live up to the role.
"Only in the darkness can you see the stars."
Martin Luther King Jr, (1929 to 1968) the American Christian activist leader, and minister, said this.
What if we are living on/in a star, though, what would we see then, darkness, or only light?
"Only by hating greatly, can we see love."
This obviously is not true, so why should his statement be true?
Love does not be love until it is love, otherwise, it is pretence.
A star is not a star until it is a star, but darkness is always darkness until it turns itself back into being a star again; hate is always hate, until it is replaced with love.

A lot of this book (the Bible) was written about the history of the Jewish people.

Yes, we are all stars in God's eyes; all made from his light and love.
Sure, we might drop into dark times at times, but these are not really the real us, we are the light; we do not have to try to find light, at the end of the tunnel; we can take that light with us wherever we go.
Yes, light does not diminish itself if it shines amongst other lights. All is light.
There is always the chance for us to be ourselves, and to shine forth our own light, from our own light, (or from God's light within us), wherever we are, or find ourselves to be, even, if it, where we now appear to be, appears to be in darkness, for now.

@Shiva49 I am the same as you. I do not like to surf the big waves, but am more comfortable wading in the shallow calmer waters.
It is an effort for me to push myself out into deeper waters, as I am afraid that I might drown there, or worse still, encounter a shark.

@innertalks It looks like we are afraid of light, to shine our own light, and more comfortable in the darkness.
I am also like that at times, especially during my working days, finding and clinging to comfort zones unless nudged by others. Pause and proceed was my approach to strangers unlike a few who revel in company.
I think it all boils down to our mental make up, culture, and experiences. I try to lie low and reach out to others only in times of need - siva

Why not ask for a personal contact and see what answers the Bible has?

@innertalks I am sure that God will listen to your prayers and answers them in one way or other..and as this time is very special, we can be sure he knows what is the best way to do it..

Yes, the Bible certainly has a lot of answers, but for the answers not to be found there, I go directly to God for an answer, in my prayers.
God will answer our every question.
God has promised to do this, and God always honours his promises to all.

@buenavida Yes, I agree.
God always knows the best way, and God's way always is the best way.
We should therefore always follow God's way in our lives.

Yes, I really like to read about the Jewish faith too.
A lot of the stories are great to read about the Rabbi's, and the mystics.
