As I feared the Governor of California announced today the kids will not be returning back to the classroom this school year! And though I understand the need, I also feel bad for the Seniors, those missing out on Prom, but I definitely understand the need.

This seems to be the normal now. I hate it so bad for the seniors too.

A lot of major events simply have been cancelled because of corona virus.

It's a shame that seniors will be missing out on their prom. Unfortunately, what has to be done has to be done.

I was watching Dr. Phil the other day, and like he said, while it's sad they'll miss graduation and the like, they can always have their own parties/celebrations once this is over.

It is a shame it has to be this way, but it is better than having some more exposed to this virus. We have the same setup here and children have not been in class for weeks, but are doing what they can online.

Maybe they can hold graduation or prom later on in the year.

I didn't think about the seniors. I mostly thought of the kids whose parents won't know how to help them with their schoolwork.

I'm hoping to be back in the classroom in May. I think they might open primary schools and kindergarden before that, since it's more difficult to teach small kids online. I kind of feel bad for some of the bunch, they'll be missing out on a lot celebration and parties, but I also think this celebration has gone way too far here. There's this big gatherings all over the country in April/May. They can't have them this year, so we won't get a lot sick kids in mid-May. One year a boy in my Physics class to his physics exam in the hospital, 'cause he got pneumonia at one of those gatherings. So mixed feelings.

Sorry to hear that, it's awful. I know the bigger town here that has more cases won't be going back....here I hope they will though.
