Poetry: A man in love with only just his self sees only falseness

The man reached high into himself,
but could reach no higher,
until he reached past himself into God.
Then, and only then, was he his real self.
Our ego-self is like a torchlight compared to the sun.
Our mind self is like a pea on a pumpkin.
God is everything outside but still fits inside us,
as long as we clear the empty space of our ego.
Nobody knows your truth, but God.
You cannot know it, until you link with God.
Faith and love connect you to God's truth.
Faith, only in yourself, never reveals truth.

We should love ourselves from our hearts, not just from our egos.

Thanks. We all need to love ourselves, but in God's way not our own way of false pride.

@Nakitakona Yes, as long as we love God, our neighbours, as well as ourselves, all will be well.
If we stop doing even one of these, our love is not a complete love then anymore.

@innertalks You're welcome. I got it. Thus if we love ourselves, we keep God's commandments.

It's a reality today. Egoism, close mindedness and lack of tolerance are the some of the sources of evil.

Yes, I agree.
Anything, like those three you mentioned, take us away from love, and anything that takes us away from love is a form of evil, I would say, a temptation, to forsake the way of love, and to go in our own way, or in some other way, instead.

@Mamerto32 Yes, he sure is.
I see it that we are each like a candle, burning away our lives.
On the candle is written two names, God, and our own name.
If we put our name above God's name, we burn quickly, as our ego fires up. When only God is left then, we are gone, but if we really die to ourselves, we can still find God even at this late stage too.
We could still keep living via God's grace then, but otherwise, our life is over, and we would be gone.
If we put God's name at the top, he doesn't burn away, and we live humbled lives through his light burning through us then too. We live our life until it is over in God's eyes then.

@innertalks and did I mentioned that this gave us a lot of stresses in the office? An egoist man is a toxic man to work with.

Loving ourselves from our heart is a wonderful feeling.

Yes, I agree. That is probably the best of feelings.
Loving ourselves by putting ourselves on a pedestal of pride, or ego, is not so good though.
Real love remains humble.

True, we cannot love truly just from our minds, or our egos.
