The Coconut Trees

In photo are images of coconut trees I passed by during my walk this Friday morning. I've heard from the news that the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) here together with certain institutions partners will conduct a hospital and community based studies about the antiviral properties of virgin coconut oil (VCO) to come up a treatment for COVID-19. I think that possibly sooner, the prices of coconut fruit or readily available VCO's would go up like the prices of ginger and bananas that are taken advantage by some opportunist vendors.

Here, usually the fresh products are up. Some are minimal, others are too much.

Coconut tree is everywhere in our part of the world. Coconut is a must in our curry preparation. In my childhood coconut oil was only oil we used for all purposes including applying to our head to cooking to all types of frying. Then some wasted interests put forth the theory that coconut oil increases cholesterol and bad for heart. People stopped using coconut oil.

There's possibility that because of this development, vendors would sell it high like ginger and bananas.
