Yesterday at night, my brother after saying that I should take better care of myself, told me that he had bought potatoes for me.
He is that sort of people who thinks that everyone should act as he does so we are not close. I did not ask for him to get potatoes for me (or anything for that matter). But he asked and I replied.
He also told me to write down a place where I could get groceries online.
He will come today to give me the potatoes (he lives 2 houses away from mine but I see him twice a year).
I´m glad that I´ll have more potatoes (should I cook a potato and onion soup today?) but I don´t know if I will be able to thank my brother in a nice way. Everything he does, even nice things, have a way of pissing me off

I know the feeling of being pissed with someone without any reasons at all.
but if that person tried to please me then I also try to understand that person too and appreciates what they offer. Anyways, I usually love to make beef stew with potatoes and carrots

I will concentrate on a stew with potatoes when my brother comes with them and tells me what I should and shouldn´t do.

I don't understand why he behaves that way. Siblings among themselves are close and even intimate as a family.

I didn´t ask him. I never ask him for anything if I can help it, although he lives 2 houses away from mine.

@Nicolla No. There are many problems between us two and I don´t think that they will be changed.

I can tell that your brother still cares about you very much
Sometimes people just don't know how to show their love correctly. He lives so close to you and it is surprising that you just see him twice a year. Perhaps your relationship will become better because of the coronavirus situation. As it makes us to spend more time for our family rather than something else.

It did not become better when I had cancer. I don´t want to think about that.

I have a better relationship with many of my friends than with him.

That is still a considerate gesture on his part.

I'm not sure if i focus more on the potato, or on your relationship with your brother ??.
Anyway, about that brother thing.. i also have a brother like that. And like that, i don't talk to him often. Or maybe even not at all. He always have "suggestions" on what you should do. and you should do them NOW. Haha.

I think that, when he comes, I´ll concentrate on the potatoes and not on him.

@marguicha yes, that's the right thing to do.
In a way you are lucky to have a caring brother like that.
