Rarified air! The best of the best! Finally I’m in the part of my countdown of favorite songs by Creedence Clearwater Revival that wasn’t difficult. This has been more along the lines of “my three favorite CCR songs, and everything else is tied for 4th.” With one of the greatest misheard lyrics in history, here’s today’s song.
#3: Bad Moon Rising
There’s a bathroom on the right!
I have a t-shirt that says that. Heck, even John Fogerty will sing that line in the closing chorus when he does it in concert.
And you know something? It’s one of those jokes that “everybody” knows, because “everybody” knows this song. It’s truly one of the great songs of American rock music, period.
So whether you want to sing the misheard lyric or the actual lyric (“there’s a bad moon on the rise”), sing along!
Bad Moon Rising
Written by John Fogerty
From Green River, 1969
