Are people too tired or bored to read discussions?

I noticed that many people only read the title. They don't read the discussions. They ask again and again what is already written in discussions. Maybe some people are tired because they are here for many hours. Or other reasons can be possible. What is your opinion about that? Some people don't read even short discussions. Maybe they do other things at the same time.

I try to read or at least skim the main points if it is a very long discussion.

@dya80dya And they expect people to read them and get angry if you do not. I just pass them by. Very self centered that is.

Yes, I also noticed that with one Indian lady who often comments something that is already in the body of the article. Obviously she did not read the article, just the title.

@dya80dya more likely she knows English. She is just lazy to read.

I noticed that if a title is a question some people will just answer that question and move on without reading the discussion itself. Some, even if they read a discussion, just give a very short generic answer and move on, which doesn't prove that they actually read the discussion.

@dya80dya I am not sure I've seen that but that's not good.

There are probably a few reasons. 1. They are just here for the money so speed through. 2. They don't care. It is sad to see this going on here because this is a simple site to earn a little extra money on. Same can be said for longer posts. I have seen several state they don't have time to read long posts. They are the ones mission out!

It’s in our nature to see something long and think “this is going to take a while and I’m not going to take the time if I don’t actually have to.”

@dya80dya they think they got the gist of it and usually just want to leave a comment.

I kind of expect that behavior since I have a habit of writing long discussions and responses. So maybe in my case, I just talk too much and people just don't have the time. Hahaha.
But as you said, there are people who doesn't seem to read through even short discussions. Perhaps they are more preoccupied by responding to more discussions instead of spending time on a few. (Quantity over quality, or something to that effect.

There are some issues here. People like myself got distracted at times, sometimes supposed to read and reply but somehow my reply went into another post which result in the reply not linked to the post. If i noticed it, i will amend it. if not, it will ended up there till the end of time.

They could be tired, but if you are fully alert, not reading the full discussion could be pretty irresponsible. We got cases where false rumors spread online thanks to people not reading the full stories.

@dya80dya and sometimes, there are people that will create a false news out of misunderstood reports. Facebook got lots of them.
