Western Australian police officers Senior Constable Tom Gryza and his partner Constable Rhys Morrisey were the right place at the right time when a home caught fire.
Even though the rule of thumb is that firefighters have top priority in matters related to housefires, they were the closest in the area to do their duty to save the life of an eight year child named Liam who inside the burning building.
The two police officers searched throughout the house to locate Liam who despite having his name called out, he did not reply.
Liam was eventually found unconscious inside the burning home and was taken out of the danger zone by Officer Morrisey until Liam was taken by a helicopter ride to Perth's Children's Hospital where he made a complete recovery from his fire scare.
The two police officers were praised by members of the Port Hedlands Volunteer Fire and Rescue for their outstanding work.
And to add some sweet happy ending to this story, six puppies and their mom were also rescued.
Even though the home is destroyed, everyone was saved.
