An austere Easter celebration

As a Catholic family, we usually celebrate Easter Sunday with sumptuous dishes. This year, however, given the COVID-19 crisis and people suffering all over the world, we decided to keep our Easter celebration simple. We had roast chicken, some leftover dishes, and a small tub of ice cream. Our girls did not complain at all. They were grateful for the simple menu. Later, we will watch an online Easter Sunday Mass. I'm not saying that it's wrong for others to celebrate the grand way during this time. Everyone is free to celebrate Easter the way they'd want it as long as circumstances and finances permit. It's just our choice to be austere this year as we wish to empathize with those who do not have the means for now. Happy Easter! * Image by Wow Phochiangrak from Pixabay

How you celebrate as long as you spend it with the ones you love then that is all that matters.

With what has been going on, this simple celebration will do.

I will like to think that no one would disagree to have a roast chicken

We had a simple meal, but I decorated the table, because I always like to decorate for the holidays.

Lovely to know. I should've remembered to decorate too as Easter is also like Christmas.

For us, there is no need to celebrate Easter because we had no "real" Holy Week in the lenten season.

We have not bothered to buy Easter eggs this year. What is the point when we cannot go to visit the people we give them to.

That's pretty understandable. I hope you get to buy Easter eggs next time.
