Where Nature and Garden Collide

There's something so magical about the spring. The first signs are the daffodils, crocuses and primroses in my garden and then suddenly the hedgerows and trees give a wonderful show with their blossom. Being fortunate enough to live on the edge of a meadow it makes my heart sing when I see the gorse and the blackthorn blossom out in the meadow where hardly any humans go but it also gives me pleasure and satisfaction seeing my cherry tree blossom giving me the prospect of a crop of sweet juicy fruit later in the year. My cherry tree is on the boundary between my garden and the meadow and while out and about in the garden with my camera yesterday I managed to take a picture of my own cultivated cherry tree and the wilder self seeded blackthorn out in the meadow. The blackthorn will be throwing out its own little stock of sloes in the autumn but my home grown cherries will be ready to eat by July ... that is if the birds and mice give me a chance to pick any. The blackthorn, although much less bright and showy as my cherry blossom, will come into its own when it fruits. In a good season the berries come across as being a bluey grey at a time whenever else seems to be dull and brown.

That is such a breath taking sight. I always wanted to have a beautiful garden of my own. Cherry trees are one of the most beautiful trees. Continue making them bloom.

Beautiful garden. I know if fruits are covered it's spared from wildlife, but not sure about berries. How nice to have, food from the garden. I have a small backyard, with potted aloe growing and broad leaf plantain in pots that I give recalled water to only. Spring is in the air as birds chirping for a mate so colorful too.
