It's Hard To Know What To Do ...

Skip has been getting injections in both eyes every month in Chapel Hill. He needs them to keep from going blind.
His last appointment was at the first of April. They called to cancel indefinitely because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Now, his eyes are bothering him. I am going to have to call to see what can be done. Skip doesn't want to go all the way to Chapel Hill right now ... it's so risky here.
I also, have to reschedule an appointment that is also, just as serious. But, I have to wait too.
I was thinking if Skip and I both had such important medical things ... what about people taking chemo treatments, so many serious life-saving things? We both know about chemo treatments and how it was to battle cancer years ago. Oh my ... my Heart feels for everyone.
The coronavirus pandemic puts a lot of us at a disadvantage ... there's a lot of cases near us ... within 4 miles ... and where we would have to go. Truthfully ... we have to stay careful and for now ... wait, watch, listen.
It is hard to know what to do. We both are going to wait a little longer. (Photo is of Skip ... my precious husband, who is the kindest man in this world.)

@GrannyGee Are his injections for macular degeneration? I had those every few months a few years ago, but praise God I don't need them right now. It's scary when conditions can damage your vision.

@1creekgirl He has diabetic retinopathy that causes blindness and has to have the injections each month. His last appointment was canceled this month because of the coronavirus pandemic.

@GrannyGee That's not right! They could still schedule him. I'm assuming it doesn't take long?

@simone10 No, it doesn't take long. Skip doesn't want to go right now, he has a compromised immune system and doesn't need any complications. I understand.

Thank you. I know we aren't the only ones and I don't just think of ME. I put Skip before me, also. All will work out.

You're in a bad situation and I am sorry.
If it was me I'd phone the relevant professionals and ask for advice.
If all appointments are suspended that takes the decision away from you because you can't do anything about that.
They may say due to your conditions being serious they will give you appointments then you'd need to weigh up the risks/benefits of going to said appointments.

Thank you, Mike. I am going to have to call. Skip is uncomfortable with going to a doctor to get shots ... that's a lot of close contact. We will definitely have to play it by ear.

Mike's cousins little boy will begin round four of his chemotherapy tomorrow. Im sure those types of tratments are being kept on schefule as best as possible.
I hope you and Skip can get the medical procedures done. I know we both need our eyes examined but we won't for awhile because that is non essential, unlike Skips which is essential.

I was thinking about patients getting chemo treatments. I remember well going 2 years for mine when I had non-Hodgkins lymphoma. I was thinking how it would have been with the pandemic complicating all.

This isn't good. They should be handling medical emergencies in any case.

I hope your husband can get his medical things for his eyes. It`s not easy nowadays to get a schedule from the doctor because of coronavirus. I really do wish that everything will be over soon
