I am as worried because of the lack of rain here as I am worried about the COVID-19. There are m any ways in which people can starve to death. And we are used to being a country with fertile valleys in a great part of our country. Tomorrow I will have to water the plants. It hurts me as I don´t know if I should spare water for ornamental bushes. My daughters are starting to take away the grass and turn their garden into vegetable gardens. If I were younger, I´d do that too. Do you plant any veggies?

That is really rough. I don't even know if our soil is good for planting. My mom doesn't have a green thumb and I don't know if I do so we haven't even thought of planting anything.

Anything can grow if you set your mind to it. Check online about what can be grown where you live. You can begin in containers.

We do not have rain here so I have to water the plants twice a day so they would not wilt under the heat.

@marguicha all my plants are the tropical variety. But they still need more water because they tend to wilt due to the extreme heat in summer.

Have you got rains later on? It is bad when one has to ration the water use. Plants and greenery suffers the most. Also, one always feels uneasy due to water constraints hanging on our minds.

I sure hope you get rain soon. We had our first thunderstorm today but now the rain has stopped. I have not more garden to plant in but I would like to try and plan tomatoes in a big pot so put them out on the front porch to catch the Florida sun

I do have gardening plans this year. My brother and his wife recently dug up their whole lawn in order to plant a large garden, and I'm wondering if we should do the same.

It seems that we should give the earth another use if we want to survive.

I hope you get some rain. No, we don't plant any vegetables. Too much work at our age.

I haven't been able to buy any seedlings and there wasn't much choice as regards seeds either. Our farmers are now starting to feel the financial stress too.
