1930 - The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) announced that "there is no news" on their evening report.
1963 - Conan O'Brien was born. He is an American TV host, comedian, writer, producer and podcaster. He is best known for Late Night with Conan O'Brien (1993-2009), The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien (2009-2010) and Conan (2010 to present).
2012 - Dick Clark passed away. He was born in 1929 and was an American radio and TV personality, television producer and film actor. He is best known for hosting American Bandstand from 1957-1988. He also hosted Pyramid and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. He is considered to be a cultural icon.

Hope you gave your hubs an extra hug. Yes, the no news thing was really odd. I can't imagine them saying that on the evening news!
