We have some leftovers in the ref. My wife heated them for our lunch. One is the pork adobo that we lad last night for dinner.
The other one is Bangus (milkfish) stew in 'takway' and sliced kamias (tree cucumber) that we had for lunch the other day.
I don't what 'takway' is in English, but it is always good with the bangus.
The photo was taken the other day. I was supposed to post it that day but the net already started acting up that day.
Sure they were leftovers. But delicious leftovers. :D

I think what you are referring to as " takway" is gabi or taro roots ( not the root crop). I'm sure that's delicious, I didn't know that "takway" could be made into stew, we eat that cooked in " gata" or coconut milk with lots of ginger and very hot red chillies.

@jrlcentral I'm also allergic to alamang bagoong ( shrimp paste) but not fish bagoong. I miss that takway, somebody use to always bring to us including leaves but the lot where that guy harvests was already sold

Yes, that's it. Gabi roots. Harvested from the vacant lot just beside our house.
And yes sometimes, my wife cooks it that way. With coconut milk, spices, and bagoong!
Problem is, I sometimes stay away from bagoong. Sometimes, I get allergy attacks from eating bagoong.

@amitkokiladitya Yup. I remember when we were younger, when our parents cook for lunch... sometimes, we will have the same viand for dinner as well. With one additional menu sometimes.

i like the milkfish. Paksiw isnt it? it gives a sour taste and makes you want more rice with it.

We call it take out when we order food from a restaurant to eat at home.
I had a manicurist who told me how she prepares milkfish. It sounded so good, but we don’t have milkfish here and I forgot the recipe.
Glad you enjoyed your leftovers. No wasting food.
