I see some EU fonds helps you add solar panels on roofs. It helps you lower bills and some even sell electricity. Investition is not small and you need to add changes into roof structure and home heating systems. I don't have house but if I would build it from scratch I would think about it especially if I can get support.
What do you think about solar panels on roof?

I made a research on the solar energy system some years ago because I was very interested to get out of the grid. But the solar energy system is not that cost efficient which means you just spend for the novelty. You cannot be on solar for all your electric needs.

@mrki444 the point is if solar is not cost effective then you just spend more. I consider solar a novelty for now.

Yes it's really good idea. Due to roof top solar panels we have lot of benifits but it is very costly.
But now our government also offering some punt for those persons who planed to fix solar panels for their offices or homes.
After over this situation i think about it.

@mrki444 we have dry and wet season here in the Philippines. Summer usually last for two months but it doesn't rain until August-October. Much have changed due to the climate change. Back then, rainy season started around June.

@allen0187 If you have longer summer it is better since panels can produce more energy.

I think it is a very good idea, but it is too expensive for us. Some people here have installed solar panels, but there are quite few of them.

@mrki444 I am not sure, but I read that the price here is $10000 or more, and most people can't afford that kind of investment.

I think solar panels would be great to have. We have a lot of solar panel farms close to us now. They used to not be here until the past years. We only saw them out west in California when we traveled there each week ... we drove a tractor-trailer.

In my country, especially in urban areas people live under cooperative housing systems. Not a mandatory stuff, as the pvt.and govt. electricity board provides electricity across the country.
But I think it's a great investment for the future. Solar panels are one time investment and has multiple advantages. People need more education and presentations on this. Above all it is for the welfare of the people

@mrki444 Yes our government support this. People can apply to the Govt. Solar Roof Top Project from the honorary ministry of new and renewable energy.
Again, the electricity board in India, both public and private are the leading in distributing energy provider, therefore it will take time for people to understand it's long term benefits. What is the scene in your country?

I like that idea since I'm planning to have our own house in the future, I will have those installed. But maybe not in roofs because of the rain can ruin it. Maybe they can figure out the best solution for that by the time I have a house.

It is really good idea. In my home we have small solar charging emergency lights. Hear we have a problem is if we get any repair there is no people to repair those one more thing is very costly..
