My daughter wants to use my old camera.

Almost 20 years ago, I bought a Sony Cyber-shot digital camera. At that moment I learned how to use it and how to transfer the pictures to my big computer. But things change. Now a small mechanical gadget has problems in the computer but nobody has wanted to see what it has for any amount of money. It seems that now everything is disposable. I managed to discover the way that the camera could transfer the photos. But it needs a software that is in a lost diskette. And I don´t even know if my daughter´s laptop has a place where she can insert a diskette. My laptop doesn´t.. This is exactly what I don´t like about new technology. Everything is disposable. I ask you all how many keyboards have you had since you got your first computer. I ask you how many cellphones have you had! The planet is full of junk. Are you going to go on destroying it?

We will destroy ourselves before the planet.

I don´t know. We have done more than our share of destroying the planet.

@marguicha All it takes is a virus to wipe out mankind leaving the planet to the animals.

That Sony Cyber Shot is a contemporary of my first Canon digital camera. Some laptops have a slot of a memory card where you can upload the pictures of the camera's memory card.

@marguicha let's hope it has a slot for the memory card. I only got to know that when I saw my nephew uploading his camera's photo on his laptop.

We found a heap of diskettes yesterday but nothing we have will take them. At least I haven't had dozens and dozens of cell-phones. lol

@marguicha Maybe I understood wrongly. I was talking about the small computer disks that we used to use. I still have lots of CDs.

I had only one keyboard for my first computer. I used it for more than 10 years and it still works.

As soon as someone buys an electronic from the store it becomes obsolete. People like new and shiny things without even thinking of the junk they are piling up. I don't think I could be a person that would buy a new phone every single year even if I had the money to do so, but it is just want people do. I like to use things until they go out completely and then get something new.

I have never had to replace a keyboard. I have replaced my cellphone once.
