Ouch! I went for a couple of walks yesterday, and I’m feeling it today! It’ll go away, and the walk felt terrific. I think I’ll do it again today...then go get some Biofreeze. Meanwhile, it’s time for a favorite song to stand to, or walk to, or do just about anything to. Here’s today’s song with “stand” in the title. #2: She Left Me Standing on the Mountain - Delmore Brothers Yeah!!! My favorite Delmore Brothers song not named “Blues, Stay Away From Me”!!! You know those marriage proposals you see on the Jumbotron at games? This song is what happens when there’s a rejection. I’ll warn all my friends who get headaches from country music that this one might be a migraine. The Delmore Brothers were one of the first “superstar” acts in country music, a feat made more amazing by the fact that their success began in the middle of the Great Depression. After World War II (when elder brother Alton served in the Navy) they resumed their career in Cincinnati at King Records. There they moved from their more traditional sound (heard here) to the inclusion of fiddles, harmonicas, and even — gasp — electric guitars! The Delmore Brothers were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in the “big class” in 2001. Among their fans (besides me): Bob Dylan. Probably none of you will join the ranks of fans after this, but this is pure honey for me. She Left Me Standing on the Mountain Written by Alton Delmore Recorded by the Delmore Brothers Released as a single, 1946 Keep a-watching for that gal:
The Delmore Brothers are back with She Left Me Standing On The Mountain. The tune was recorded in Hollywood in January of 1946 and is available on their Roun...

Actually, it’s a good thing. Dylan says he loves their harmonies, so you HAVE to ask Bob WHAT HAPPENED???????

Well, it sounds great. I never heard such a great song before. I once think how the writer arranged both the lyrics and the melody of the song is so touching. I would be glad if you recommend me another song as gorgeous as this.

When Dylan came on stage in Western Australia with an electric guitar, he was booed. I think it was in the 1960s. I wasn't there but Vince was.
