My view is changing

The neighbors are cutting down two of our trees in the front yard. These two trees were planted too close to both the driveway and the house respectively. I'll miss the shade the trees will provide, as well as the obstructed view (privacy). However, I'll also enjoy the more direct sunlight it will afford.
It's supposed to storm at 5 pm, so it's good they went ahead and started now.

Well, they'll be paid.. The neighbor's granddaughter's boyfriend owns a tree service.

@simone10 $1,100 which wasn't as expensive as I was anticipating.

It seems like the weather doesn't know what it wants to do. It was supposed to start at five and now it says it won't be until 8 pm!
Thank you, will do!
The fella that is helping us sure is doing a lot. I don't know how much it will cost, but he's going to take out some of the tree roots too.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I hope it's cheaper than when we had our trees taken out. They cost $1,000 each.

@LindaOHio It could very well cost that, but I hope the man will extend a sort of neighborly discount (his girlfriend lives next door), or at least give us a deal based on all that he did. We are giving him a lot of business after all.

Storm - wow - here it has gotten hot! Trees do make a difference. We have 2 giant ash trees on our street - one of which is ours. The guy next door has been good about getting his tree trimmed each year, but it's not full like it used to be with the previous owner, so it's actually made our house a bit hotter . . . even affected some of the plants in the yard.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Ah, maybe the extra sun will naturally get rid of that moss situation! In our yard, there is a specific area that had enjoyed the shade in previous years - but now with the tree trimmed next door, the delicate plants there have fried.
We are scrambling to figure out what to do for summer . . . but don't want to spend loads of money right now. Already last night we were sweating - and Hubby can only stand so much of that. Maybe we should do something in the way of different curtains.

@much2say I hadn't thought about that, but maybe. Some of these trees are about twenty years old. Once everything is done, I'm going to go outside and just look. I know it will look like what I remember from my childhood.
Hope you can figure out dinner soon. We'll probably have ours earlier because of the storm coming through. Yeah, I can't stand to sweat. I have two fans in my room and might have to plug both in...

Yes, I know my room will be a lot hotter, and I already have problems with it being hot. I am definitely going to have to get a smart bulb now, one that I can dim if need be. I like having the sunlight streaming in, but I'm going to have to put some beige curtains, something to block out the sun only a bit.
Our yard really needs some love to it. There used to be bushes right outside my window and the ground there is just eaten with moss and wet to step on.

I wouldn't mind a nice storm now, especially since the problem trees are being removed.

@Tampa_girl7 As do I. It's very soothing. They seem to be taking a break, but wow there is so much more sunlight in my room already.

I wouldn't mind lots of thunder and lightning myself, but we'll see.

Cutting the branches it seems, though I am not sure if they'll take the whole tree down or not.

I hated the trees we had all around, until they were all cut down when new management took over. Though i think them being gone has grown on me now.

It is definitely so much more bright now that the trees are gone. I will love it in the winter, but hate it now as it will get hot in here with the blinds open.
