Distance learning till the end of semester

Today my school decided that we would not go back on May 11 as planned, but continue distance learning until the end of the year. I totally agree with this decision and it makes me feel safe. A lot of our kids have to ride the train to school and they could easily pick up the nasties along the way. I know it's hard for the kids, parents and also teachers, but this way we can "stay home, stay in Tokyo, stay safe" as the government is requesting we do. But this means I have to change some plans for my lessons, since I was doing instrumental teaching and hoping we could sing together again. I need to come up with ways to sing the fun songs and folk songs I always do with the kids at the end of the year, online. Half the fun is doing it together! What plans of yours have changed because we all have to "stay home, stay healthy"?

Nothing much aside from doing a grocery can be an issue now since we need to practice social distancing.

All schools here have also closed for the school year. They don’t even know if they will be able to return in fall. I haven’t seen the little boy I babysit since this all started, but his mom says he is extremely bored without school.

When does your school year finish? In Australia, school breaks up just before Christmas and starts again late January/early February.

It's best to take precaution for some more time and let the virus gone permanently

I hope it's gone permanently when it goes, and doesn't come round again.
