Because ... that's what friends do...

It all started last sunday morning .... a friend of mine texted me for our daily chit chat and catch up.... and she said see you at the vegas, for a bacon baguette with caramalised onions. (we meet up 1 or 2 times a week... and at least once  a month we meet up at this cafe/restaurant  and have coffee and brunch at and that's  what we order),   but of course, all bars, restaurants and café's  are closed... so I said ...  "yes, 1 day soon hopefully..." and we both laughed... Then yesterday morning at about 11.00 o clock our door bell rang... and we wondered who it was... as there is supposed to be no socialising at the moment... but when we opened the door, our friend was stood several feet away by the lift door... and  had hung a shopping bag on the door handle and said,  very quickly through her face mask, "here you go guys, I'm  not letting the virus stop our fun" and then said,  gotta go and eat mine while it's  hot, I'll  text you later"... and then went into the lift and left... anyway, maggies son (@maggs224), picked the bag off the door handle and brought it into his mum, he said it's from sheila, I don't  know what it is, but it's  hot...  I had a funny feeling  I knew what it was ... and I was right... and maggs delved into the carrier bag and pulled out something hot and wrapped in silver foil... it was a bacon baguette with caramelised onions,   1 each, for the three of us.... she had been to the supermarket,  bought all the necessary items, taken them home and cooked them all up into a very yummy bacon baguette... so we got some kitchen paper as serviettes and sat and ate them while they were still hot and they were delicious... and then phoned our friend and thanked her and chatted for a while... what a lovely thing to do ... we know some lovely people and are truly blessed... hence the post photo... lol

They were blooming delicious, we should have taken a photograph but they were so hot and crispy and smelt amazing that we dived straight in to eat them while they were hot lol... We had already had decided that the day was going to be a treat day and when the door bell went Sue was in the middle of making some individual cheese cakes one of which was destined for this friend. So it turned from a treat day to a pigout day lol... But so worth it

That was so sweet. Its memories like this, and those special feelings, that we need to make more of so that when we think back to 2020 we don't just remember the obvious.

That was an awesome thing she did for you. I'm glad you enjoyed your bacon baguette with caramelized onions. Sometimes blessings come in paper bags with handles on them.

What a wonderfully kind thing to do. I'm sure the baguette tasted extra nice that morning.

Friends are true blessings. It was so thoughtful of your friend to do so. So right virus should not stop such little joys. The way to celebrate happiness and togetherness has changed in this virus crisis.
