Covid-19 - My thoughts

I was reading some news about some of the protests around the country and I have to say some of the reasons I can understand why people are starting to protest. This does seem to be going on for a long time and they (the government) can't really give us a reason. It is starting to sound a lot like scare tactics to me. So here is how I am seeing it. As of this morning according to the CDC... Covid-19 in USA - year 2020 - 1.07 million cases - 61,700 deaths Flu in USA - year 2020 - 39 to 56 million cases - 24,000 - 62,000 deaths (The CDC says these are estimations due to not being able to confirm if these are just from the flu or they are Covid-19 cases or the other way around. Unfortunately, the reporting is sometimes incorrect.) Lets look at Flu season 2016-2017 Flu in the USA - 29.2 million cases - 38,230 deaths 2017-2018 season Flu in the USA - 44.8 million cases - 61,099 deaths With the numbers from the CDC, it is hard for me to understand if this is really that bad. They are not sure that it is being reported correctly and some patients are being reported as both the Flu virus and Covid-19 cases. Which is it really? If there were 61,099 deaths last year and well over 44 million cases, why were we not locked down last year? If the Covid-19 is not as bad as last year’s Flu, then why are we in “lockdown” now? When is it that they are going to lift this “lockdown” and let us get back to our lives? For me I really have had a change in what I am doing mostly because I don’t have a job to go to. I go out when I need, and I stay home otherwise. When I go to the store, I have not been wearing a mask or gloves. I do not get to close to people in the store but then again, I never really did before. I’m not sure what the “governments” goal is in locking us down, but it does make me wonder now. What do you think? Am I just buying into the conspiracy theories or is there something here that we should be thinking about?

I am trying to move on. But i will say one thing. This virus is a lot more contagious than the flu last year. Good luck and stay safe.

Is it more contagious or is that what they are implying and so we believe them? Sorry, I'm finding so many things to question lately.

@Bensen32 Who knows for sure, this is my opinion and from the deaths I have seen and how quickly it is spreading, nursing homes, etc, I believe it is more contagious.

@CarolDM Could be, I certainly am not a expert on the subject.

Follow the money for starters. Some companies and powerful entities are making vast profits. Then consider the agendas being serviced by this.

Yep, that is the issue trying to understand and know who or what is profiting from this.

It's hard to tell if they are really reporting the real deal.

Hmm why would the whole world mount a scaremongering campaign, shut down completely while global economies go into meltdown?! Say indeed governments are merely applying scare tactics, I'm interested in knowing from you what you think the motive for that could be, what are they hoping to achieve by so doing? While I do think there's something that we're not being told about the virus, I don't think we can compare the flu to COVID-19 because the latter is new and experts are still trying to wrap their heads around it, it's miles more contagious than flu, it keeps mutating and has NO CURE etc. But even though I've got my suspicions, until this virus has completely gone, I'm not taking any chances with my health. And I'm FED UP with being cooped up indoors.

@Bensen32 Of course, we all have opinions but I don't think people should be allowed to do whatever they want based on how they feel IF IT RISKS OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES. What irks me about people not adhering to the rules and regulations is the fact that whether we like it or not, whether we have suspicions about what's going on, the constant here is the essential workers (the police, military and the health sector)are under pressure to look after and save all these lives. I think the US is a different kettle of fish altogether, it's heavily politicised and only time will tell which governors will come up smelling of roses - for the sake of American citizens, I pray to God that some of the decisions made won't lead to the loss of 200, 000+ lives by the summer like the experts predict based on what's going on right now. Like you, I strongly believe there's something fishy going on. I especially believe that the US and China know a lot more than they're letting on. Is there a lethal virus out there? I don't know what it is, but something is definitely stealing lives, affecting our health and crippling our economies. I don't know the hows, the wheres and whys but what I know is, something has spooked the whole world and global leaders alike.

Well like I say, I don't know what the motive (goal) is in it and no I guess I have no proof of it but it sure seems like it. I wish I had all the answers. I think something is going on and I don't know what or why. I certainly don't think that any government has our best interest in mind at all times. Why is it some of these governors and other politicians are making rules for us but then not following them themselves? Again this is just my opinion and everyone needs to do what they think is right based on their opinion.

@Lushlala I have many issues or concerns about how some governors are handling it, I'm not much for one person deciding for a whole state, what they can or can't do. Especially if they allow some to do what ever it is they want to do. Yes, eventually I guess we will see who was right or wrong on their guesses of what we should be doing. It seems very much like people are just guessing at this point.

The flu has a vaccine that keeps the number sin 5 figures. 250,00 minimum from this one

I never think it is wrong to research for yourself. If that makes me a conspiracy theorist so be it. I have never ever trusted what the news tells us, the government. I've always believed the truth is there for us if we would just research for our self.

Yep it takes a little time and effort but I would rather look for myself then trust the government or the media to tell me what is going on and what I should think.
