In the picture is the herb called Tawatawa (English translation is smile-smile). It is claimed to be a good treatment for dengue patients. They grow wild in our garden. There are 6 patients who got the herb from me followed with a testimony that the platelets dramatically increased in just one day of drinking the Tawatawa tea.

That certainly is some testament. Better save some for yourself, just in case!

There's a lot in our backyard. They multiply fast and they compete with the grass.

I would second that, my younger brother has a vacant lot and the poor folks living around the property would ask for clippings when it's dengue season in our country and they swear to it's effectivity, I think science should look into this.

@Alexandoy and come to think of it that cures for many maladies are just lurking there somewhere waiting to be discovered. I would try to get some tawatawa and I would experiment growing some in containers.

It is wild and we considered it just a weed until we got to know that it can cure dengue.

@averygirl72 it's good that you have it there too because in the rainy season dengue would be alive again.

They are actually looking to it as a possible ingredient for COVID19. I hope it will work out.

@cherriefic since the herb had treated dengue patients maybe it makes sense that it can also increase the immunity of the covid patient.

That's another herb I haven't heard off. It would be good if it's useful for dengue fever.

They say it was already proven. There is a Dr, Carvallo here with a tv program about the Tawatawa juice. She recommends people to drink it every day.

hmm, just checked, it is a native plant in India. So the plant also grows in the Philippines... I have never seen that plant before in my life (today I have learned a new thing - again, from you ).

It is a wild herb that grows in our yard. I also didn't know until our housemaid pointed it out to me. And then there was an actor who got dengue that she requested the herb from me. She got well after 3 days.

Let's hope the testing result is conclusive. DOST is the one conducting the test.

That's so nice of you to provide the herb for the people who had dengue. Will you plant more of the herb so that you can help other people more?
