We were lucky to be able to buy ox tail this morning in the wet market. Now we had kare-kare for lunch. The beef is cooked in special mix of broth made from ground glutinous rice and peanut butter. The vegetables are banana blossom and string beans. Best eaten with steamed rice and shrimp paste for the dip.

It's almost 2 kilos for 550 pesos (that's about $10).

@Alexandoy do you also make your own bagoong or shrimp paste?

@amitkokiladitya it's been a long time since we had that dish. Everyone in the house were excited that we had our lunch earlier by 15 minutes, waheehee.

There are no snakes in the wet market but there are bats, the wood that they use in baseball, waheehee.

Ox tail is quite expensive if you buy in the supermarket.

It is a unique dish because it has peanut butter which is not common here.
