I am going to buy the yeast in bulk, such as 100g or 500g. It is quite different than I used to buy. I want to store it in a better way so that it can still work well after some time. I know there are many professionals here and I would like to know your ideas to store yeast better. Such as shall I put it into the fridge?

We just keep ours in the pantry until we’re ready to use it.

I also buy the dry yeast, the fresh yeast in cubes is better but it does not last very long and must be kept in the refrigerator.

A 100g packet of yeast can last for a long time

I just store mine in the pack in my cabinet. There is a use by date on yeast.

@LadyDuck I also use the dry yeast. I haven't seen a fresh yeast yet.

@youless She is talking about "dry yeast", so you must know what you are buying.

First of all one question: do you intend to buy "dry yeast" (like the one in the picture) or the "fresh yeast". The dry one must be kept in a dry container, not in the refrigerator. The fresh yest must be conserved in the refrigerator but it does not keep for many weeks, be careful what you buy.

Now I know I should keep it in the dry container since I buy the dry yeast. I am curious how the fresh yeast looks like

@youless NO, problem, look at the picture. The fresh yeast is sold in cubes and this is how it looks like. It must be kept in the refrigerator, you can freeze it.
