It's 11 AM Wednesday morning. My day started early at 6 AM. And I am all done with morning chores and have an hour break to be here. It's Wednesday and today my husband did volunteer in the morning to go out in the apartment premise and help people with getting veggies and fruits from the local farmers who bring their vans in the morning in premise to sell their produce. It is a big help for them to sell their produce in this lockdown and our apartment has taken a good initiative to help them. They send the list of available items with their price list a day before in the evening to the WhatsApp group. People send their orders and they pre pack stuff and bring it in bags. Residents need to just go down, make a queue maintaining social distancing and pick up their bag. They can return the last bag that they took if any. Few people in our apartment have volunteered to make it convenient. They help to sanitize the bags, call out names on bags as they unload and so on. My husband volunteers for Wednesday morning from 7-10 in morning as he is free from any meeting call in the morning on a Wednesday. These volunteers even home deliver to senior citizens in the complex who are staying alone. The payments are done digitally to the farmers. This initiative is helping the local farmers and the residents too. Husband is back with enough veggies and fruits for few days. It took me an hour to clean them all and they are kept to dry now before I put them in fridge. The fresh mangoes look tempting and my children are waiting to have them today for fruit snack I am done with my morning exercise session, cleaning chores, shower and breakfast. Today I ran two loads of laundry with all soft toys in my daughter's room. Now the third round of laundry is going on with cushions from my sofa. The soft cycle of this machine is really good and we can wash all delicate clothes and toys. I have almost an hour to be here before I get up to cook lunch and take my online class. Every one in house is busy after breakfast and it is quiet. Husband and niece are busy with office work, elder one has her online tutorial class for another two hours and younger one is busy sketching some portraits. This is the new skill that she is refining these days and we have seen a lot of improvement in that with practice. There is a nice soothing music playing in the background and the house smells of jasmine fragrance of the floor cleaner that I used for mopping today I will sit in this peaceful ambiance in my balcony and mylot for a while. It is so refreshing to hear so many birds chirping outside and some are even taking a dip in the swimming pool that can be seen from my balcony. The pandemic has got the pool closed for residents and these birds are enjoying it to their fullest.

I like the title but the problem is how to be sure that the vegetables are really organic.

I guess there is no pure organic veggies possible as we have already polluted the land to a great extent. But this one is from a genuine known person and we can be sure of 90% of organic practice. In our country hardly any pure land is left to cultivate. Four residents from our apartment have taken huge plots of lands on outskirts. They give it on rent to local farmers to grow and sell their produce. They make sure that only organic practice is allowed. We have known these neighbors for years now. When pandemic was not there we were allowed to visit the farm and pick up the fresh produce. Any one can take a piece of land on rent and become an organic farmer there.

@arunima25 at least you are aware that organic is not 100%.

@Alexandoy Yes. Purifying the land to 100% of what it used to be naturally is not possible after so many contamination. We just make sure not to use chemical fertilizers and pesticides spray.

And I am enjoying them. We have got dozens of sparrows and parrots visiting us on terrace. I had never seen them before in Bangalore.

That's an excellent idea buying from the local farmers. People have come up with very clever initiatives.

Nature has really healed itself during this pandemic and less human activity. We see more and more birds these days and a lot more variety than usual.

Your hubby has brought home a lot of veggies and fruits. Why you took an hour to clean them?.
