I am done with all morning chores. House is quiet and I have played my favorite instrumental music ( Sitar) in background. I love this serene environment and it's perfect to relax and my lot. I have another window open to make some activity sheets for tomorrow's class. So I will be multitasking and switching between the two windows.I have almost an hour before my online class starts. I will be reading new posts today.I have a lot to catch up. My breakfast of Dhokla turned out very tasty and we all enjoyed it. Except for the shape, everything was perfect . My dhokla stand for steaming was borrowed by my neighbor few months back. They went to their native for a week and got stuck there due to lockdown. I realized it later that the vessel was missing when I was ready to steam the batter. But then our idli stand ( another Indian dish) came handy. So we had taste of dhokla in idli shape. For those who are not aware of dhokla, it's a steamed dish made out of fermented batter ( left for few hours ) of gram flour( besan) and semolina flour ( sooji) mixed in curd with little salt and sugar. After the steamed cakes are ready, they are seasoned. We use oil, mustard seeds, sliced green chillies and curry leaves for seasoning.Add water to it with little salt and sugar. We also squeeze some lemon in to it. This hot water is poured over steamed cakes. After few minutes, the water gets absorbed and our dhokla gets all the flavours and taste.. We had it with side dishes...green spicy coriander chutney and sweet and sour tamarind chutney. Photo is of my breakfast....yummy dhoklas

Now am curious of the taste of fermented butter or the dhoklas. Is it sour?
