Wednesday was a good day. Did some fire drills....

Class on Wednesday was a long day just as I predicated. We spent the day finishing our work so we could get ready for our next unit. The Unit we were working on lately was all about Safety & Hazards. I actually enjoyed this Unit a lot.
On Wednesday, our teacher made us go through 2 fire drills. For each drill, one person had to be "the leader." That person has to direct the rest of the class out of the building. I was the leader on the second drill. Damn you teacher! I hated being in that position.
But it still went well. As you may already know, you get told to not take anything with you because if a real fire took place, every second counts. But just as our teacher blew her whistle (which was random, we never knew when she would blow it) I joked quietly to the girls I sit with. I was like "ok quick! Jasmine you get my bag! Aaliyah, grab my phone let's move move move!" I was just joking because obviously I wouldn't even care about that stuff if a real fire took place. As I got everyone out of the room, Jasmine walked the other way down the hall as a joke.
Turd! It was just fun but good news, we beat the Tuesday class on both times.
(our teacher timed every evacuation)
Our teacher also got us to do a few other things such as showing her how we lift and put down a heavy box, watch how we cleaned tables, how we washed our hands and asked us random questions which we all did well with.
And sometime throughout the day, we watched a scene on YouTube from the show "The Office." (The US version). I've not seen much of it but I've seen the UK version a million times. Anyway, the scene was about a fire drill but everything was going wrong due to the people doing the wrong things. We watched it to have a laugh. I have added it in this post in case anyone feels like watching it. Of course you don't have to! But just in case you do watch it, I hope you enjoy it. It's basically a good video to learn what not to do during a fire.

I did not know there was a UK version of The Office. I used to watch the American one but that was quite some time ago. Sounds like you are having fun in your class. I am glad you made it through that day.

@Hannihar The UK version was the first and original version. I really love that one as it has Ricky Gervais in it and I am a fan of his.
And thank you very much.

I love Steve Carell. He is really really funny. That is the American version. I have never seen the UK version so cannot tell if like it or not.

Its a good thing to learn about fire drills they are not taken seriously here at all.
In the U:K. being a telephonist you had to know all about them as we were under bomb threats real ones right then when all the troubles were on going.
Spanish firemen despair of trying to teach people anything as they do not listen most times.

The bomb alerts were to do with the troubles of Northern Ireland that were for real and they did put some bombs in some places so we always had to be alert and ready it was sort of like being in the Army.
Spanish are not even willing to wear a mask so its tough luck for them who try to teach them some will some won´t.

@VivaLaDani13 Last year we went through all the episodes - even my son got a kick out of it (he is young, but he understands the humor). But my daughter was totally not interested at the time. We have started rewatching the whole thing because NOW she loves it. Yes, having such a procedure will help to save lives in the event of a fire!

@much2say I understand what you mean as there have been a few shows that I didn't really get at first but later on it grew on me.

@much2say I will have to watch more of that show. I've never taken the time to watch it. I can understand the fire drills being boring for some but really, so good to learn just in case. Always good to know the procedure.

@JohnRoberts It surely was a good day.
I hope the evacuation part is over though cause the teacher scared the crap out of us blowing that whistle.

@CarolDM It does look like a good show. When I'm able to, I wouldn't mind watching them all too.
