I like the way that 19 year old Jose Nunez Romaniz decided to do what is right when he went to a Wells Fargo bank in Albuquerque New Mexico on Sunday to make a deposit to the ATM machine to pay for socks that he ordered online for his grandfather. I can imagine what was going through Jose's mind when he saw a plastic bag on the ground next to the ATM machine. Jose claims that he no intentions to borrow the plastic bag that had $135,000 inside since I know that taking property without permission of the property owner is called stealing. Jose decided to do what is right and contact the local police who sent two officers to the bank where Jose turned in the money to the police. The police found out that a subcontractor left the money outside of the ATM by accident. What remains to be seen is if Jose will receive a reward from the owner of the money that was found outside of the ATM or not. In my view Jose did the right thing by being honest since I am sure that there are cameras placed in the Wells Fargo bank building that would have identified Jose as a person of interest had he decided to take the money and run. Thank goodness he did the right thing and be a honest teenager.

Although it is not common to see honest people but it is not a rarity because there are cases here once in a while. It is fortunate that an honest person had found that pack of money. My question is how the owner could neglect that kind of money,. Yes, I always wonder whenever I would read a news of big money returned.

@Deepizzaguy there were countless of cases like that. One guy left the money bag in the taxicab. Another left the money in a restaurant. It really makes me wonder sometimes if those finding and returning were true or fixed. How can you leave a bag with big money anywhere? That is unthinkable.

@Alexandoy You are right whether some people leave money behind on purpose on by accident.

I am wondering myself why the person who was supposed to deposit the money failed to put in the machine?.

He knew that if he stole the money, he would be in huge trouble with the police since I am sure that the Wells Fargo bank has a hidden camera in the building.

@LindaOHio Or worse if the money belonged to some crooks, they would hunt his family down.

This raises a few questions. Why didn't the ATM subcontractor raise an alarm when he forgot his duty? Subcontractors do not carry money in plastic bags. It is not garbage. They carry them in tight crates. It is hard to tell if there is money inside it. Subcontractors works with third party security teams hence the security should have raised concerns when the empty bag was nit handed over.

That is a good question why the subcontractor did not obey the rules of his employer.

@Deepizzaguy The sub contractor could have lost his job or the contract as well.
