A slice of rural in suburbia

If the picture loads, this is a building that I've talked about with a few people here. My area, like many others, was once farm land. There is still a farm house on the top of the hill not too far from this building. Far enough away that I doubt the two were connected. Actually, I'm not sure how old this building is.
I went down the road this building is off of on google maps. Wow is it a long one. You don't actually realize it from the main road, but this road curves. It's a nice little neighborhood with several houses having lots of land tucked away in suburbia.
I'm sure none of this really interests most of you, but I love it. I'm curious by nature, and I love to explore, even if just virtually.
I love looking at the little things dotted around the remind me that, not so long ago, people farmed this area.
How are you today?
Do you prefer rural, suburbia or urban life?

Was here until the 70's when most of the buildings on the main road here, and in the neighborhood sprung up.

I like living in a small town like Lake Charles. Country living is not my cup of tea,

I've lived both rural and suburban. A friend of mine probably lives in my ideal place. It's in the country, but just on the other side of the downtown area. She can hop on the highway and be in the heart of the arts district in ten minutes.

@ScribbledAdNauseum What I have learned from the local media in Lake Charles is that are some country towns close in the northern section of Lake Charles like Moss Bluff.

My paternal grandmother lived in a very rural area, and you probably would love it. You'd see buildings like that everywhere. It was the very the last few years of her life they finally got street names where she lived. Before that, she had to have a P.O. Box in a neighboring town because the postal service needs an address to deliver it, and they didn't have one.
I could be happy in an urban environment, but it's the suburbs I prefer.

My aunt lives in an area where her address is a P.O. Box, but I think it's technically on the road. I mean, I know she has a mail box because I've seen it, but when she sends us things, the return address is always a P.O. Box, so I'm thinking they still don't have like a proper street name?
Yes, If I could never live in a rural area again, I'd prefer the suburbs. I was telling someone else here that one of my friends is located in an ideal area. She's close to the city, but far enough away that she's rural. She just has to drive five minutes to be in another (very rural) county., but ten minutes gets her to the heart of downtown.

Right? Like, let me live where I don't have to talk to a lot of people.

I am OK. I prefer suburbia mixed with a little rural. We have 1-1/4 acres with no one directly around us.

We had more wooded area behind us up until about 20 or so years ago. It wasn't our land, but we considered it as such. Now there's a housing development directly behind us. I live in a neighborhood myself. It's quaint.
