Just when we were having our lunch, I received this terrible news. One of my mentors who trained me for my counseling has passed away. I was shocked to receive this heart breaking news. I could not believe it. I had a good hearty talk with her on Mother's Day as she was like a motherly figure to me in this city and was a great teacher. I could always approach her for any issue and suggestion that I faced in my life as a parent and teacher. She was always there to listen and to give really good advices. She helped me groom as a special educator and counselor over a decade that I have known her. When I received the message in one WhatsApp group of special educators who were trained by her, I felt choked and tears just rolled down. It's a personal loss of a great mentor. And she was just 60....too young to die. Guess! Life is too short and unexpected. Just few days back we were chatting, laughing and sharing our stories over video call. And today I received the news that she passed away in her sleep peacefully with a massive heart attack. And this was the only attack that she had and she succumbed to it. I sent a private message to her daughter to express my condolence. She is the only immediate family member she has. She had lost her husband few years back to cancer. I have no words to console her. In this pandemic crisis, we can not even visit her in this situation. I might go to see her after few weeks. Praying to God to give her the strength. I cried my heart out and then fell asleep. An hour nap made me feel lighter. I had to get up and gather myself to take my second online session. It was her teaching never to compromise with our professional commitment. So with a heavy heart I took my session. I feel a sudden vacuum. May her soul rest in peace.

Yes she played a big role in my life and I will definitely miss her. But she has groomed me in a way that a part of her will always stay with me.

Thanks for your kind words. I am trying to distract myself and carry on with life. But definitely it will take some time to sink in. She was healthy, happy and active. No one could see it coming.

I’m so sorry for your loss. The last time I ever saw my mother was on Mother’s Day.

She was too jovial in the call that I made her last Sunday. No one could see it coming. She was healthy and active. She succumbed to very first heart attack that she got. I can feel you when you say that you last saw your mom on Mother's Day.
