Let me introduce you to this little lady / I bought a thing

Apologies for the quality of the photo. I took this picture yesterday to ask a friend about the pattern and colors.
The above picture is not the thing that I bought. It is the little lady I wanted to introduce you to. She probably has a name, but I don't know what it is. Perhaps I should come up with my own name? It is one of the dolls that my mom made up many years ago. She crocheted the beautiful dress (and pants that are under it) and bought the shoes for the little doll. This is one of three that my mother made and I have. She made many others.
The thing I bought is something I will have to take a picture of when I receive it. It is an afghan, half granny square / half popcorn stitch (though I'm not sure if it IS that stitch). It's a vintage one, originally priced at $27.00, but I put it on my "watchlist" and received an offer from the seller for $24.00. I accepted the offer because it is the price I planned to offer anyway.
What would you name this doll?

That is a wonderful idea. I will have to think on that. My mother was going to name me "Adrienne Nicole", but my father named me. I could use that name.

@BearArtistLady I can actually see that in her expression. She definitely looks like she'd rather be anywhere but the predicament she is in.

@ScribbledAdNauseum she’s lovely, but does have a look of concern.

Aw that is so sweet! There is another doll I may take a picture of eventually. She did this one in a different style, the doll has no legs and is just stuffed with cotton batting. She looks rather haggard, and since she is in a ball gown, I like to think she has had enough dancing!

@paigea The doll that was your mothers, was it something that she was gifted as a child?

Your mother did a good job. I am glad you like the offer. I do not see the doll's face so cannot tell what kind of name to give her. I take a guess. It looks like she is sleeping so I would call her Sleeping Beauty. To me it looks like she is sleeping.

Adrienne Nicole would be a fitting name for your doll. I think that's a good idea.

Violet Rose might be another, those were the names of my great grandmother's.

Yes, I think I might go with the name she would have given me had she not let my dad name me. The girl has the same brown as my natural color so I think it works.
Adrienne Nicole.

My mom was excellent at crocheting. When I was little, she would spend hours on the couch watching her shows and crocheting.
