They made me tell a little white lie.

I was doing an online survey yesterday and I had nearly finished it when they asked me how many people under the age of 18 were living at my address. Well we do not have anybody of that age living with us so I typed in 0. When I clicked on the `submit' button I was kept on that page and was told that I had to answer the question. So I did and I gave the same honest answer of `0'. This happened several times and I did not want to lose the money I had earned on the survey so in the end I said we had 1 person under the age of 18. It went through okay then. So what is the point in them collecting this data if they do not accept your honest answers.?

It is annoying when that happens. I had one the other day that listed insurance agencies and would not proceed until I selected that I was a customer of one of them. I did it and there was a place to send them a note at the end. I wonder if they fixed it.

@lazydaizee Lately I haven't done many. Only a couple on Swagbucks for the last 3 months. Ipsos-isay and e-rewards are a couple others.

I get notes at the end of surveys asking what could be improved, unfortunately this was not one of them. Which survey sites do you use, if you don't mind my asking?

You have a point there. Sigh. There are things that you just gotta do when you gotta do it. Sigh again. Nope, I don't consider it white lie. So, don't feel guilty.

@lazydaizee Nope. I will not squeal on you. Ha ha. You ain't got no fault at all. It was their system that is erroneous. I'd do the same given the situation.

That's not your fault. They made it impossible for you to tell the truth.

I know, they would not let me go to the next section and I did not want to lose the money because I had already spent ages on the survey.

That is clearly a bug in the application. Sometimes I also encounter such digital form that wouldn't accept zero or some other answer that I have to invent just to be accepted.

@lazydaizee it can happen especially when the site is new.

At least I know that I am not the only one who has this sort of problem.

They sometimes ask very stupid questions. Their surveys aren't going to be very accurate if you have to put in untruthful data just to be able to move along.

Sometimes they even put in trick questions to make sure you are paying attention.

@JudyEv It is annoying but I suppose it makes you pay attention, especially during a very long and boring survey .

All survey sites you face same issue... For earning money we must give fake details only..if we give correct details then it disqualified you... Take care

This is true unfortunately, but then they are not collecting accurate data for the clients who need the information from the surveys.
