Papaya leaves for hard and tough meat

In Indonesia we usually have problem with hard and tough meat, especially beef and mutton. Mostly it is blcaused by the age of the animals. Older the animal, harder and tougher the meat. To solve problem, we use fresh papaya leave to wrap the meat in 15-30 minutes. That treatment is able to make the meat soft and tender effectively.

That's great that you have a natural way of tenderising the meat. Sometimes we might marinade meat if we think it is going to be tough.
