55 degrees, windy, made an offer, and greenies is not grannies

I have a lot of nothing to say, and so I am going to categorize it. Weather The wind just kicked up a fuss. It's overcast and has been all day, with occasional rain. Supposed to have more overnight. I'm probably going to leave my window open for as long as I can. Afghan Again I saw an afghan that I thought was pretty and at a decent price, but since I could make an offer.. I did. The afghan is listed at $14.75, but if they accept my offer, I'll only pay $12.50 plus the cost to ship. I guess it depends on how long it's been listed, and whether or not the owner wants to get rid of it or not. Grannies not Greenies Ebay thought they'd lope in dog chews in with the afghan. Guess their system though Greenies was a mis-spelling of Grannies / Granny Squares / Granny Square Afghans! I thought it was funny. Thieves of the wood Will probably watch more of that show tonight. It's ten episodes, and I am on like the second or third. How was your day? How much would you be willing to spend on an afghan that was crocheted in or around the 70's?

Thieves of the Wood sound good. They make Greenies for cats too. I'm not sure how much I would spend on an afghan. Although I wouldn't get one because my mother might ruin it. She had once washed a blanket that was hand wash only and ruined it.

I've done that before. It was one of those sherpa type blankets. It wasn't handwash only, but I washed it on the wrong cycle. I'm extra careful with the way I wash blankets now. Delicate and little to no harsh detergents. I didn't know they made greenies for cats.

Either price is very low for a homemade afghan. Green(ies) or otherwise.

The afghan's I am buying are circa 70's and 80's. I do think I have gotten great deals on them, mostly from people who do not realize their real value. Of course, there are some that have them listed at prices I would expect ($50-$80), and yet those are also afghans that have some damage to them.

We have sunshine, blue skies and warmth (should get up to 25 degrees Celsius later, which is 77 degrees Fahrenheit for the uninitiated); wanna swap?!

It seems like we are getting England's weather. The past two days have been cold, windy and rainy. Today it's only supposed to be 15 degrees celsius today.

Wow, I'd love to see this afghan that you're bidding on. They are so pretty and a real art, for sure. We had winds the other night and it blew down a tree in our neighbor's yard. Granny square afghans are beautiful!

I love the sound of the wind, and when it blows just enough in to the window to be pleasant. We can finally enjoy it here because the trees that could cause damage have been taken care of. The seller has 8 more hours to either accept, counter or reject my offer. I've placed some afghan's on a "watch list" and have had several offers. There is one other afghan that is beautiful but there is a large area that needs repair. I think I could manage a slip stitch, but I do not want to have to buy yarn to match for just a minor repair.

@kobesbuddy I thought the offer was supposed to expire at noon. The seller has until 4 PM EST to respond. There is another blanket that I liked (not as well) that I may make an offer on if this seller does not respond. I do hope I get this one though.

My day was OK. I guess it would depend on the afghan, how much I liked it and what condition it was in.

That is the one I made an offer on. There were several others that I liked, but there was an imperfection in it, one that I don't have the skills to fix. Glad your day was okay. I guess your winding down your mylot time?

I have several olds afghans my great grandmothers made. I didn't have room for all of them, but I know my sister took some as well. I'm a perfect world we would have kept all of them, but there were too many to keep so we donated a lot of them.

I am sure they found good homes. I do not know what happened to the afghan's my mother made. I do not know how many in total she made. She used to sell them at craft fairs and fleamarkets along with doll dresses and magnets and doilies she would make.

I am, sort of. I will admit that I was somewhat distracted last night when I was watching it so I may have missed some parts of it. It has a good story line, but I feel like it's somewhat hurried.

Afghan is also a clothing. I only knew it to be the name of the people of Afghanistan.

Afghan is the name of the clothing? Afghani (with an I at the end) is what I have always heard people from Afghanistan referred to.
