Social Distancing seems to be getting compromised as economy opens up gradually

It is not as if we have any vaccine ready as yet for COVID-19. Nor any one shot medicine. We have to adjust to the new reality. And economy has to open up, though gradually. Things are opening in our vicinity too. However, either the public has started getting restless. Or some are getting overconfident that they are extra safe! So, the social distancing which had been followed in such a disciplined way seems to be getting compromised now. This is not a good sign. I am worried about the day when Metro trains get operational and Malls open, even with even-odd rule. And well, there was a recent case wherein a woman who was positive boarded a bus, and all 37 passengers, inclusive of driver and conductor had to be quarantined. I do not recollect the city or the area name. Well, I hope sanity prevails, and people keep on following the guidelines.

@freelancermariagrace Yes that is the best way, and are the people following the rules?

@freelancermariagrace yes and some just do not want to follow the rules, unless cops or some other folks are watching and enforcing the rules.

@marlina Yes, and I fail to understand whether people have lost logic or lost their patience?

I am a bit worried that, in Western Australia, our numbers are so slow that people will become over-confident and start ignoring the social distancing.

@JudyEv Yes that is always a worry and if someone has the virus but no outwards symptoms, it becomes even more serious.

@m_audrey6788 I would advise you to stay away from Restaurants, except for pick up as well as Malls. And try to go for Grocery shopping when the crowds are expected to be less.

Social distancing not only seems to be compromised, it is being compromised. I don't know what is in shorter supply; masks and social distancing or virus testing. Why is common sense so uncommon?

@betlynfrnds common sense and empathy for others is in short supply. Some news of Covid 19 positive nurses and doctors facing victimization by others, especially neighbors is quite disheartening too.

Too many people think they are in invincible. I’m sure most of them are carriers of the virus. They put our lives at risk.

@DianneN Whether the state or central governments, or WHO agree on what is community transmission, once the virus spreads, it is difficult to detect or trace those afflicted with it. And the asymptomatic cases can be the toughest to deal. I know that things need opening, but perhaps going a bit on the slower side would be difficult.

@DianneN At least folks here are careful to wear masks, even within residential complexes.

@DianneN There could be some nearby, but not large in numbers, and perhaps others can bring them to tie the line!

If everyone will cooperate everything would be in control. They should follow the order and discipline themselves.

@Nakitakona sometimes it is the neglect of a few or not having things in a planned way that can bring disorder.
