Okay, so there is another update regarding Baltimore City from the Mayor and Governor. It's a lengthy post, so you've been warned. The Governor stated yesterday that some areas might be able to complete phase one and move to phase two of reopening, as long as the numbers continue to improve. If you have been following any of my posts or talking to me, you may know that Baltimore City (where I live) has not even started phase one of reopening (and if you didn’t know, now you do lol). It’s frustrating, yes, but our Mayor doesn’t believe it’s safe enough to reopen yet. A few days ago, I made a post (“COVID-19/Business Updates for Baltimore City, Maryland”) about the latest updates. Retailers were able to open for curbside pick-up, but they had to apply for a zone. However, this can help some small businesses safely get back to work. Outside exercise classes are allowed as well, in groups of 10 or less, and everyone must remain 6 feet apart. Anyways, as part of the Governor’s press conference, he stated that some places would be able to offer outdoor dining. You couldn’t have more than six people at a table, and I THINK he said there’d be a chair in between each person, but I’m not entirely sure. I’m sure they’ll have to remain 6 feet apart anyways. I checked our Mayor’s Twitter, and he stated that after consulting our Health Commissioner and reviewing the health data for our city, we can also move forward for outdoor dining. Restaurants that are permitted can start tomorrow, while other places need to apply for a permit starting on June 1st. I’m going to attach a link to his tweets at the end of this post. Now, are we going to run out and start dining out? Nah. I’m sure the restaurants aren’t going to offer outdoor dining at a full capacity (or I hope they won’t), but there is still the risk of too many people showing up. I’d rather just order my food for takeout or delivery for now. If the numbers continue to improve, maybe we can go out when the novelty of it wears off, if that makes sense. However, I’m glad more people are going to be able to get back to work, and that they’re taking precautions to do so safely. We need a balance of people being able to work and people being safe, so slow and steady may win the race (I hope). I mean, at least I hope they’re being safe about it when they reopen. Baltimore City still isn’t in phase one, just a few restrictions are being modified. But hopefully things will continue to improve in my city. I guess we’ll see what happens. I hope things are going smoothly for everyone else. And that’s my little update. Here’s the link to our Mayor’s tweets about it if anyone is interested. You don’t need an account to read it because his account is public. There are several of his tweets attached (kind of like a “thread”) because you can only fit so many tweets into a post. https://twitter.com/mayorbcyoung/status/1266039195962945537 Welp, I have one more order to do (unless anything else comes up). I’ll be back later for the Gratitude Challenge. Take care, everyone. Photo Credit: I snapped this picture of my city a few years ago.

@Hannihar Thank you. I know in our state, wearing masks inside of establishments is mandatory, same with social distancing.

Thank you. While most of MD is moving into stage two, Baltimore City has started stage one as of today, so hopefully, everyone continues to follow the guidelines so we can eventually move to stage two. But it's a start. :)

@just4him Oooh. Did they institute a curfew because of the pandemic or the protests?

Thank you. I'll probably stick to takeout or delivery, but it's good that more people can get back to work.

@tammys85 Yes, it is. Green Bay is acting normal now, except for the face masks. I also read online this morning they've instituted a curfew. I don't go out at night anyway, so it doesn't bother me.

We're in phase one. And soon I think dining out will be done here too. But not really paying attention. As takeout is fine by us for the places we eat around here.

Baltimore City is still in modified restrictions, but not phase one, while I think the rest of MD is going to be starting phase two soon. Yeah, I'll just get takeout or delivery for now.

@Deepizzaguy Are you talking about our president? I'm following the guidelines set by our Governor and Mayor, who are actual politicians and are actually consulting with health experts before making decisions.

@tammys85 Even though I do not like celebrities telling me what to do. A politician I deal with if he or she have evidence to back up their order.

good that dining places are allowed to open at your place although with certain restrictions of only 6 persons. Businesses are also opening up. it's a good sign of normalcy returning.
