It can be of interest to an entomologist or to any individual who takes interest in critters. Mylotters living in the US states of southwestern Virginia, North Carolina and West Virginia might witness an once in a 17 year event of emergence of cicadas for their mating season. It is estimated that there will be 1.5 million cicadas per acre and the lands will be full by the bugs' overwhelming chirping. Anyone interested to know more may visit below linked article.
In parts of Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina, the insects will climb out of the ground for their once-in-17-year mating cycle. Scientists have dubbed this grouping brood IX.
