This isn’t by Billy Joel, but it’s about Billy Joel, so it’s appropriate. Thanks so much to @DianneN for the suggestion of doing a Billy Joel countdown. I couldn’t pass this song up while doing this countdown, though.
BONUS: It’s Still Billy Joel to Me - Weird Al Yankovic
This wasn’t ever commercially released. Weird Al tries not to be brutal in his parodies, and to that end he failed miserably in this riotous tune set to Joel’s “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me.”
I have to say that “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me” was one of my least favorite songs about rock and roll until that hunk of garbage “We Built This Shi....City” came along. And, as I mentioned earlier in the countdown, when Glass Houses came out (which featured this song) I was about finished with Joel. (Nice rebound with The Nylon Curtain, Billy.)
I don’t know how I heard this originally (I think while working at K-94 in Norfolk), or how it got circulated. I just know it’s hilarious.
