A Scorcher

June 3rd, 2020 8:20 AM EST Good Morning! It is already 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21.111 degrees celsius). Our high? 90 degrees! Lots of things happened in my dream last night, it was a carnival like experience, with a bit of the Saw Movies mixed in for good measure. Apparently my dream guy (er.. guy in my dream, rather) decided that the best way to win my heart was to write down some random things and deliver them to me personally. The delivering them to me personally part was great, but the random things? Well, that was just odd. We have a Landscaping / lawnmowing service coming today. Our neighbor isn't always available to mow, so it looks as if we'll be calling on this landscaping service most of the time, that is if they do a good enough job. They are supposed to be here sometime this morning. A watched inbox never boils The ebay seller didn't send it out yesterday, and well I'm beginning to think he won't. I'm thinking I'll give the seller until the 8th, which is the first day that ebay estimates it will be delivered. By this point, I'm not even going to get in contact with the seller, just go straight to the "I didn't receive it" button. Won't waste my time when most negative reviews are that the guy never replies anyway. What are your plans for today? I'll write, read (didn't read yesterday), do the macarena, cook (thinking chicken and spinach at this point), mylot... Stare at my inbox willing Michael's to send the yarn already... Vacuum..

Here the plum rains set in.It means that we will rarely have sunny days from now on.It is a rainy season well known in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, during the time when plums are ripe.

Oh I see, but I believe it stays hot in China year round, doesn't it? So when it's rainy, you get a reprieve from some of the heat.

@changjiangzhibin89 Oh, that is very chilly in the winter! We do not reach those temperatures very often.

I hope it won't happen for you either. We are supposed to have rain tomorrow, and I hope that cools down things more thn they are expecting.

@Butterfingers Thank You. We have had a lot of rain the past couple of weeks which has helped to keep us cool, but now it seems summer is finally here for us.

We are at 75 F today, is not too bad, but the sun is strangely HOT and we know that we are going to have a very strong thunderstorm during the night.

That is the temperature that we were at for most of the weekend. Our weatherman keeps saying we'll have rain again, but it doesn't seem as if it's coming.

I "worked" yesterday. I'm "working" again today. When I finished work yesterday I went for a walk. It was pleasant, but people were getting in my personal space.

Much too hot for doing any walking. Today we're supposed to get a few degrees warmer than yesterday, but we also have the added bonus of rain.

@Poppylicious We had a lot of rain a little over a week ago, and it kept things cool. Now we're having to deal with pesky summer.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I've been hoping for rain today, but we've just had cloud. It's frustrating because I do like a splosh of rain.

I just water the flowers. I also lit a candle which I forgot to do yesterday. I didn't call the post office yesterday. I'm going to wait until Friday so I can see where the face mask aka magic scarf is going. It's still in GA right now. I'm also going to be staring at my email too. I also will read later and I have to go to the bank too.

I hope the scarf gets to you soon. I don't understand why it is stuck in GA. That's just far too close for it to be stuck for so long.

@JESSY3236 That thought crossed my mind too, but it seems you've been having trouble before the protests began so it's not just that.

@ScribbledAdNauseum They say it's because of the virus. It could be also the protests.

It's not even 8:30am, and already it's 74 . . . and we're supposed to get to 99. Hey, so I've been doing some gardening finally . . . planted various things. They are in pots and containers . . . so since they will have the potential to fry under the sun, I might have to move some of them in a shadier place. I read about your tea ordeal and didn't have a chance to respond . . . yah, that is so not cool. Tomorrow will be shopping day for me, so today I'm going to focus on using up food that needs to be used up once and for all.

@ScribbledAdNauseum The kids and I just came back from our walk. It's almost 12:30 and it's apparently 96 now! We are normally out and about all summer visiting various places . . . but it's not going to happen this year. I think going to pools will be out too (for us). We have various shady spots around the house . . . depends on the time of course. But I have to think where all these plants can go. The beauty of them being in containers - I can move them and move them again if it doesn't look like it's going to work out. Oh gosh, what happens in a case like that . . . are there protections in case a seller turns out to be a scam artist? Why is this person/company allowed to continue with this business? I still don't buy much online - I'm sure there are more good experiences rather than the bad, but I just try to avoid the worries all I can.

@much2say I understand why pools are operating the way they are, but it doesn't make it easier for all those kids who were looking forward to time at the pool. I believe the ones around here might be operating on appointment basis. Or so I've heard. Well, the seller ended up making a shipping label today, so I guess we will see. I still don't think that it should have taken that long for the person to do. He (or she) was able to leave feedback when I paid, so I'm not convinced their delay was in any way related to the virus.

Yeah, that's how it was this morning, around 8:30 we were already in the 70's. I really wish summer could be skipped this year. It's not like people are going to be able to do the normal summer activities, and i they are, it won't be normally. Ah, do you have a place in mind to keep them from getting scorched? yeah, not cool at all! I'm going to give them a little more time, but I won't tolerate not getting my money back.

I had a problem with Etsy with an order...no product, no reply, nothing. Etsy got me a very quick refund. I’m glad the companies stick up for the consumers. I’d hate to think how many people would be ripped off without the company enforcing rules. Have a good day! We have instant summer here, too.

Etsy has never really given me a problem, fortunately. There was once when I asked the seller if she could give me an approximate date that my item would be ready for shipment (I had bought from her before, and the order was taking longer), and she snipped at me. I was nice about it and everything, so not sure why she had to be so snippish. I didn't order from her again for a long time, but she does have the best smelling lotions so...

No, not a lot. A strip on one side, a little more on the other. The bank is the hardest. I'm guessing if they haven't contacted you by now, it's not going to happen today.

It's going to be warm here today too. We called a dozen people to try and get someone to mow and ended up having to call our backup company which is 3x as expensive. We have no choice. Sorry you didn't get your eBay item. Hope your yarn comes soon. Enjoy doing the macarena!
