Have you ever buried SOMETHING sentimental?

I was watching a video from one of my favorite youtuber's yesterday and he was talking with a man who had buried a pair of glasses when he was twenty years old. The man was asked by this great grandmother to please bury the glasses.
The family wanted to retrieve the glasses now as it's been many years, but he could not remember where he had buried them. The youtuber was with a friend of his, and they both took to the land with their metal detectors to look for it. They did not have much time to spend on it, but they tried to find them. They could not.
So, back to my question : Have you ever buried something sentimental before?

My big sister and me burried some of our sentimental toys beside the house of our Auntie when we were around 12yrs old and my sister was 13yrs. old. We were not able to find it again since my Auntie sold the house and we can`t go there anymore
it was fun though

@m_audrey6788 It's possible, but I am sure it confused the new homeowners, wondering why they were buried.

No. But my husband has. After we were married he took a metal detector in his parent's back yard and found his coffee can filled with little mementos from his childhood.

Oh that's neat! I know from watching the metal detecting videos that materials have different ones / numbers associated with them. DId he just dig that can up or did he find other things too?

@LindaOHio Oh, I bet that was exciting! I am always excited when they find change, and I attribute that to my coin collecting grandfather!
Okay, okay, I have a small collection too.

Another lotter said something that reminded me of the dirt bank we had at the apartments I lived in when I was little. I might have buried something then.

Me neither. I mean, I played in the dirt when I was little because we had a dirt bank outside the apartments we lived in.

@Shunnan Oh I see, then it would be important to not bury it. It could get destroyed by the weather.

I am the same way. I have a big container full of things that mean a lot to me.

@ScribbledAdNauseum because our climate change so when flood comes or earthquake it's difficult to find it.

Nor have I, nor have I known anyone who has. Though I have heard of people burying stuff like that in their flower beds.

I always thought it would be fun to bury a time capsule when my children were young but we never did.

I have been thinking about that lately too, or whether there is anything buried on the property we have here. This area, like a lot of others, was once farm land.

I am sorry they could not find the glasses. I buried my dog when I had to put her to sleep and cannot remember where it exactly where I buried her.

Ah yes, we have buried pets before as well. We have also had the animal cremated. I have the remains of one of my dogs.

@Hannihar No, let me clarify, by "remains" I mean that they are already cremated.

@ScribbledAdNauseum
So what are you going to do with the remains of your dog?

I do not bury things either. I keep what is sentimental to me, but otherwise I give it away or get rid of it.

I don't bury stuff. If I don't like it or there's no use anymore, I'd give it away

Yes, but I'm asking about things that are sentimental to you. Like an heirloom
